We all want our home neighbourhoods to be well-looked-after. Not only is a well-kept area nicer to look at, research shows that people are more likely to behave antisocially, drop litter and even commit crime when their surroundings look neglected.

Sometimes areas need a ‘spring clean’ to address a few problems at once. This year has seen several Love Your Parish Days. Any parish in Chelmsford can book a Love Your Parish Day, when the council’s street care team visits to pay special attention to their neighbourhood and complete a ‘to-do list’ provided by the local parish council. This includes tasks like:

• Litter Picking
• Footpath Sweeping
• Road Sweeping
• Removal of vegetation/weeds
• Graffiti Removal

With Love Your Parish Days happening regularly from May till October this year, the environmental quality of Chelmsford is undoubtedly being kept to a very high standard by our fantastic street care team. The parishes booked in for a Love Your Parish Day in 2020 are:

For any parishes hoping to book a Love Your Parish Day, the Love Your Chelmsford team send out emails to all parish clerks in February/March each year. The email offers the chance to book a day and specify what work is needed within your parish.
