Following the Government’s recent changes to its road map, Chelmsford City Council has re-opened its facilities for casual and organised sport from today, 29 March 2021. This means that grass pitches, 3G facilities, AstroTurf facilities, hard courts and outside gyms are now available, subject to advice from Public Health England and the Government.
During this time, while parks, equipped play areas and public toilets remain open for general use by local residents, the advice is still to exercise locally to where you live and not to travel unnecessarily.
Did you know that there are a number of outdoor boot camps and exercise classes taking place in our parks and anyone up for a fitness challenge is welcome to join in. All you need to do is contact them directly to get all the details.
Many of our parks have outdoor sports facilities and pitches available for hire, or use free exercise equipment in the outdoor gyms found in some of our parks. Keep your body and mind fit and healthy!
