Chelmer Park; a space for all
Chelmer Park, located off Beehive Lane nestled near Galleywood, is a green space with something for everyone!
Whether you’re looking to escape the city and stroll those stresses away or take the kids out to a great play area – it’s all there at Chelmer Park.

For those who like to take a walk, either alone, with your dog, or family, there is plenty of open green space to enjoy. The old apple orchard is worth a visit throughout the seasons as the blossoms in summer give way for the apples in autumn. You can watch the trees transform in the next few months as their green leaves turn to beautiful browns and reds. Oak trees are scattered around the park and during September you will see acorns start to dominate the branches, getting ready to change into their well-known brown form and then fall to the ground.

If you have young visitors to bring, then the play areas are the perfect place for them to have fun, use their imagination and get some fresh air. These areas are surrounded by greenery and will be beneficial for kids and adults alike.
Chelmer Park is home to Chelmsford Cricket Club and Chelmsford Hockey Club. Creating space for these sportspeople to develop, compete and train makes this park instrumental to the thriving sport scene in Chelmsford.
It doesn’t end there however, as the outdoor gym, netball courts, tennis courts, and pitches are there for a range of clubs and visitors who want to get active in a tranquil and safe setting.

Creating multi-functional areas such as this ensure that both residents and visitors alike are encouraged to visit green spaces, as it serves so many purposes. It is definitely one to add to your list to visit, and we would love to hear from you when you do pop down there.
