Chelmer Park, off Beehive Lane, specialises in providing quality sports facilities. Besides football pitches, netball and tennis courts and an outdoor gym, it can also boast to being home of National League Chelmsford Hockey Club and the Chelmsford Cricket Club. Alongside the traditional pitches, Chelmer Park provides floodlit synthetic pitches for football and hockey. There are also fitness classes held in the park. 

The park has contributed to the development of top sportsmen and women of County and National acclaim, and hosts international hockey matches, making it an important sporting venue in Essex.  

In addition to the range of sporting opportunities available, the park is well used by young people, cyclists and dog walkers who enjoy using the play areas, outdoor gym, cycle routes and extensive open space for gentle exercise and fresh air. Chelmer Park also has the remnants of an old apple orchard and areas managed for wildlife, giving plenty of reasons why you should add visiting this park to your list of things to do in Chelmsford.
