Andrews Park
Andrews Park, off Patching Hall Lane, is one of the more established and sizeable Chelmsford city parks with some 4+ hectares of green living space to enjoy. It is a popular space for local residents, as well as school children, due to its close proximity to the Chelmsford schools, St John Payne and Columbus. The facilities available provide an all-inclusive park, with something for everyone.
To one side of the park, there is a small wooded area: a remnant of ancient woodland, listed as a county wildlife site which supports local biodiversity. Bookmark this Chelmsford park for the next time you’re looking for things to do in Chelmsford as it makes for an ideal leisurely stroll or place to walk the dog. Adjacent to the woodland is an area of managed grassland which is rich in biodiversity and the perfect sunny day picnic spot.
The remainder of the park is more formal, with a well-equipped inclusive children’s play area. For the more active, there is an outdoor gym, a multi-sport hard court area, a hard-surfaced tennis court and grass football pitches: one full size and one junior. The football pitches are available for hire. There are changing facilities available in the pavilion when the pitches are in use.
The external disabled toilet can be accessed by Radar key holders.
