Come visit the bees
Oaklands Park has three new bee sculptures in its bedding areas, to help showcase how important these pollinators are to us all. Especially with climate change with the need to help protect them and create bee friendly areas in our gardens, balconies and parks. They have been funded by Chelmsford Beekeepers who have close links with Chelmsford Museum and are responsible for looking after the live bees which can be found in a see- through display on its first floor. They have been created by Deb Hart: an Essex based willow artist who took on the challenge of creating them. Deb said: ‘I am delighted to have been a part of this project. I have a passion for creating and love seeing my artwork transform into meaningful installations around Chelmsford. I hope my bees will encourage people to take a walk around the museum too.’
