The 18th of September is World Clean-up Day, a chance for everyone across the globe to give their local natural environment some much needed TLC. As part of this Love Your Chelmsford are planning their most ambitious clean up yet and we would like you to be a part of this!

We’re inviting families, community groups, local businesses, schools, and anyone else that lives or works in Chelmsford to take part in a variety of activities across the city including litter picking, flower planting and much, much more!

Alongside this Love Your Chelmsford (operated by Chelmsford City Council) will be carrying out a number of activities on the day to improve the borough including; deep cleaning the high street, removing graffiti, installing more recycle on the go bins, mature tree planting and plenty more.

Want to join our litter picking army on the big day?

To make sure that every single area in Chelmsford is given its fair share of attention on the big day and to give every single volunteer access to borrow free equipment, we are aiming to set up at least one litter picking equipment collection point in every parish within the borough.

Within each collection point, there will be litter pickers, branded heavy duty bin bags, branded hi vis waistcoats, gloves and an extra little thank you gift for all those that take part. What’s more, there will be plenty of child and adult sizes available to make sure even our youngest residents can take part.
