Woodland Wanderers Forest School at Hylands Park
A new Forest School experience for children and families has come to Hylands Park!
Woodland Wanderers is led by Clare Houghton, who brings 25 years of experience as a primary school teacher to the project. Clare is passionate about giving children opportunities to learn outside the classroom and helping them develop a connection with the natural environment.
Clare said:
I’m delighted to announce my forthcoming forest schools will be staged at the beautiful Hylands Estate! I couldn’t think of anywhere better to conduct Forest School sessions, and I hope the children and parents will enjoy their time with us.
We provide a safe, fun place for children to enjoy their time outdoors, make new discoveries and make the most of their natural surroundings.
Sessions summary:
Starting from November the Woodland Wanderers will offer regular bookable sessions at Hylands Park through the year.
“Stay & Play” Little Saplings, for children aged 2-5 years:
Parents and carers stay with their children as they enjoy outdoor play, discovery and nature-based activities. Places are limited to 15 children per group. First session: Monday 9th November @ 10:00 to 11:30.
Woodland Explorers, for children aged 6-11 years:
Parents and carers can drop their children off at the Forest School area and return to collect them at the end of the session. This gives children the opportunity to develop their independence and confidence while spending time outdoors in a safe and supportive environment. Places are limited to 15 children per group. First session Saturday 21st November @ 11:00 to 12:30.

The Woodland Wanderers Forest School area is situated to the left of the main Hylands House and its car park.
Hylands House is accessed via: London Road, CM2 8WQ.

Parking Charges apply 9am to 6pm (including weekends & Bank Holidays).
For some sessions a parking permit may be provided – please check with the Woodland Wanders Forest School directly, before you arrive, to avoid unexpected car parking charges.
