We believe it is greatly beneficial to show children the importance of the natural world and the reasons we should take care of it. Parents/adults, churches, community groups and public services play a role in this, whilst schools in the Chelmsford district are planting trees and wildflowers, exploring wildlife, and recycling and composting their waste; plus much more!

Litter continues to be an issue nationwide, and we’re not exempt to the problem where we live. It is detrimental to the aesthetic of our street scene, but more importantly it can be harmful to wildlife, especially as the Chelmsford district hosts five rivers, which can carry the litter out to sea.

To help schools with educational messages regarding the importance of a clean, safe and healthy planet, we have funded ten free litter picking kits that are available to primary schools in the Chelmsford district. These kits are made up of:

– 25 x Child-sized Litter Pickers
– 4 x Bag Holder Rings
– 2 x rolls of waste collection bags
– 30 x Customised High-Vis Jackets (LYC and Your School Logo).
– 30 x Child-sized Gloves
