Hylands Head Gardener
As I write this update from Hylands Estate it feels like summer has arrived. It is a really nice time of year with all the new fresh growth on the trees, shrubs and herbaceous perennials transforming the landscape compared to just a few weeks ago. As you can see, the Japanese Wisteria (Wisteria floribunda ‘Macrobotrys’) is in full flower and looking as gorgeous as ever.
We are currently putting the finishing touches to the Hanbury Memorial Garden. This garden will be open to the public in early July.
During the next few days we will be welcoming back our garden volunteers for the first time this year following the lifting of Covid restrictions. We are really looking forward to working with them in the gardens again.
