Competition: Name the Peregrine

In honour of Restless Brilliance: The Story of J.A. Baker and The Peregrine at Chelmsford Museum, two willow sculptures of peregrines are being created by Essex-based willow artist Deb Hart and placed in Oaklands Park. We need you to give them names!

Two winners (chosen at random) will have their suggested name and credit etched into their peregrine’s sign and also win a ground bird bath, bird feeder, peregrine plush with name tag, Family Swim and Skate vouchers, and a runners-up goodie bag. Yes – there will also be up to 48 runners-up!

How to enter:

Comment on a Facebook or Instagram post of ours about the sculptures-in-progress (social media links below) – or send us an email at corporate.marketing@chelmsford.gov.uk – telling us:

  1. Your favourite wildlife or park in Chelmsford (we’d love to see any photos!)
  2. Your chosen name for one of the peregrines

Terms and Conditions:

  • Entries close at midnight on Friday 28 June.
  • One entry per person, over both email and social media.
  • Entrants must have access to an email address, Facebook account or Instagram account.
  • Under 18s should gain permission to enter from a parent, carer or guardian.
  • Entrants must be residents of the Chelmsford district.
  • Name suggestions must not use inappropriate language, such as swear words.
  • Name suggestions can be the same as other entries.
  • Winners will need to confirm their win by midnight on Friday 12 July.
  • Prize collection closes at 4pm on Friday 9 August.
