Earlier this year, we launched a Sustainable Fashion campaign to bring awareness of the environmental impact of our new clothes and the associated waste epidemic.
In order to encourage residents to think more sustainably before buying new, we promoted ways to love what we have, extend their clothes’ life and what to look out for when buying new. We did this through a travelling Sustainable Fashion Exhibition to the likes of Chelmsford Museum and Chelmsford Cathedral, promoting a 3 month long survey to find out how Chelmsford resident’s shop and look after their wardrobe, a mending workshop with over 32 textile pieces saved from being thrown away, and an inspiring upcycling competition for school aged children with 5 impressive designs.
Although we are now wrapping up our campaign that has reached thousands of residents on social media and in-person, we will continue to engage with the latest developments with sustainable fashion.
